CIO Education Summit - Nov 11- Nov 14, 2012 Scottsdale, AZ

Topics of Discussion are Set to Include:

  • Top-Ten IT Issues in Higher Education - The role of the IT leadership is to keep the technological ship afloat even as the course may be changing. This session will discuss the top-ten major issues judged to have relevance to the CIOs and the higher education IT community at large, either for general principles or specific guidelines.
  • Desktop Virtualization in Education - Improve IT Security and Agility, Simplify Management and Reduce Costs - This session will address the various methods available today for Desktop Virtualization, the differences between them, and where each can have their optimal fit within the educational institutions depending on specific user roles, applications and physical environments.
  • Enhancing the Academic Experience - What innovations and tools does the Education CIOs have to their disposal - and how can we measure something as insubstantial as "the academic experience"? Topics will include: aligning online learning programs with institutional growth objectives; and transitioning towards a paperless learning environment.
  • K-12 Education Technology - This session will discuss new approaches on early childhood education and a variety of programs and initiatives in K-12 education using new and innovative technology solutions.
  • Innovation, Collaboration, and Value Creation in the Academic Community - What are the internal and external IT challenges within educational institutions and the academic community? What leadership and vision needs to be in place to realize the benefits of innovation, collaboration, and joint value creation?

Required Qualifications for Speakers:

  • Senior level IT decision maker of a major organization - i.e. SVP, EVP, CIO, CTO
  • Executive level experience within a major institution with a direct technology focus
